Specialty Moving
Some belongings need a closer look before moving day. Big Dawg Movers reviews moves involving pianos, safes, large appliances and other heavy or delicate items in Rock Hill and the Charlotte area. Tell us about the item and its surroundings so we can discuss whether and how we can help.

Start With the Item

An item's size, shape and condition affect the moving plan. For a piano, include the type and approximate dimensions. For a safe or large appliance, share the make, model, measurements and listed weight if available. Tell us about fragile parts, existing damage or anything that changes how the item can be handled.
If you don't know a measurement or weight, say so. Photos and manufacturer details can help explain the request, but final arrangements depend on reviewing the full job.
YOUR MOVING PLAN
The Path Matters, Too
Describe the Route Out and In
Moving a heavy item through a doorway or around a stair landing requires planning beyond its dimensions. Describe the route out of the current location and into the destination, including:
-
Steps, staircases, tight turns and narrow hallways
-
Doorways, gates and elevator dimensions
-
Parking and the distance to the entrance
-
The room and final position you have in mind
Share photos of difficult access points when discussing the job. We review specialty requests individually and confirm the scope before scheduling. Some items or locations may fall outside what we can accommodate.
GOOD TO KNOW
Specialty Moving FAQs
Can you move my piano or safe?
We review piano and safe moving requests. Send the item details and access information so we can confirm whether the job is a fit.
Can you move a heavy item on stairs?
Tell us the item's size and weight, the number of steps and any tight turns. Stair access needs individual review before we can confirm the move.
Can a specialty item be included in my household move?
Ask when requesting your estimate. Identifying the item early lets us review it alongside the rest of your inventory and confirm the appropriate scope.
What if I only need one item moved?
Share the item and both locations. We'll review the request and discuss available options, even when it is separate from a larger move.
EXTRA HELP FOR YOUR MOVE
Prepare Before the Crew Arrives
Preparation & Professional Help
Keep the planned access route clear and let us know if the layout or item details change. Ask what preparation is needed for your particular item before moving day.
For appliances, arrange any necessary utility disconnection and reconnection with an appropriate professional. Tell us about anchored items or components that require removal so those needs can be addressed in advance. Do not assume installation, hookups or specialist work are part of the moving service.
